Schwarzenegger: smoking or no?

An airport official claims Arnold was not smoking because the picture shows no smoke; however, the end of the cigar looks to be aglow with burning tobacco and Arnold is holding a book of matches in his hand. The cigar would not smoke if the smoker is inhaling which the picture seems to indicate he is.

In case you missed the real story, Arnold is being investigated for breaking the law by lighting up at an airport. It wasn't in the US so don't go blaming the conservatives, George Bush, the Tea Party or Christians.

A different religion

One definition of religion is "a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects", ususally considered as towards a diety but can be any club or even a bowling league, for that matter. many men are religious about their sports or their hunting.

The two major religions of the world ate Christianity and Islam. The Jewish religion, the Christian religion, and Islam have some fundamental similarities. All three worship the same God, all three recognize Abrahman and the father of their religion, and all three recognize the reality of a saviour.

The Jews and the Christian reognize Isaac as the true heir of Abraham whicle Islam recognizs Ismael. The Muslims and Christians believe Jesus was the son of God, a great prohet and ascend into heaven while alive. Muslims don't believe Jesus rose from the dead while Jews do not recognize Jesus at all.

The Jews and the Muslims beleive in a future saviour who will set up a kingdom when he arrives.

Christianity was founded by Jesus in 30 AD and has spread though the teaching and preaching of the gospel by the disciples of Christ. Islam was founded by Mohammed in 570 and was spread by the teaching and preaching of Mohammed as well as by armed conflict.

Chritians believe that salvation is through a belief in and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Muslims believe salvation is granted through their faith in God and through their efforts at being good.

Flash Mob

Living in a small town and only receiving a small paper that covers local news almost exclusively except for sports, one doesn't learn about a lot of phenomenon as quickly as people in other areas, especially people who work in office type jobs. I'm retired so my contact with people is limited except at Church. Until this week I had not been aware of flash mobs and did not realize they could have been a local problem in Greensboro until this morning.

A flash mob, for those of you who like me have never heard of them, is a group of people linked together by cell phone who gathers quickly at the receiving of a text message. Even after watching a commercial of a man suddenly ripping his jacket off and doing this crazy dance in the train station (or where ever he was) it never dawned on methat people really did this via text message.

I don't text. I have a hard enough time typing on a regular keyboard. I don't use shortcuts on typing words either like many texters do. Does it make a difference?

Well, I first noticed the phenonenon in the comment section of articles but lately the reporters filling the stories are also getting worse at writing, often leaving words completely out of articles. It's geeting so that one isn't often clear exactly what another is trying to communicate.

To tell the truth it's not my world out there any more. People today don't have a belief in a God like they once did let alone a belief in God and a trust in a saviour.

Greensboro Blogs

I tried again to read some blogs from Greensboro. Greensboro 101 doesn't exist and the first blog I read from Greensboro 101 had 16 entries under idiots. Greensboro bloggers still can't be civil to each other.

Deceptive headlines

Scott wins 1st World title, with Woods' caddie

By DOUG FERGUSON AP Golf Writer The Associated Press

Sunday, August 7, 2011 6:02 PM EDT

He did not either. Woods and his caddie finished 37th. Scott and his caddie finished first. Scott's caddie was fired by Woods last month and only caddied Scott.

It's a shame but the fact that Woods did poorly is bigger news than Scott winning. Even so, one would think that writing a headline correctly and truthfully would take priority than sensationalising Woods loss with a lie.

9/11 conspiracy

"Alleging that the Bush Administration knew of the planned attacks before they occurred, the film claims that the attacks were deliberately executed to justify the United States' war on terror and obscure its real goals of economic gain and increased control over the population."

The above is quoted from an article on TrueTV about various conspiracy theories and specifically what happened at the twin towers in New York. If indeed the theory is fact, then it was an act of utter stupidity and failed miserably. With the economy tanked, not only in the US but around the world, we have seen many uprisings and several regime changes around the world related to the economic disaster that followed 9/11.

Doesn't it seem utterly odd that people can give Bush credit for pulling off duch an elaborate ruse and at the same time claim that GW was an intellitual lightweight?

Dragon flies

Dragon flies are fasinating creatures and come in a variety of colors. So far I've seen blue ones, green ones and red ones as well as the square winged white and blacks ones. I wondered what othyer colors they come in?

Not so!

This is a picture from an article titled the "100 dorkest yearbook photos" or something like that but I have to disagree since I am a big Marvin the Martian fan.

nursing home shooting

A local area man stands accused of 8 murders but claims innocense based on his drug and alcohol use. His defense is that he was so high he didn't know what he was doing.

It is common knowledge that using druga and/or alcohol changes ones personality and perception of reality and increases one likelyhood of doing abnormal things and reacting to situations in a violent manner. How often have you heard it said of someone 'he is really a nice guy unless he has been drinking."

Knowing this, if a man chooses to use druga and alcohol he is in fact accepting responsibility for his actions based on foreknowledge of what those drugs and alcohol will do to him therefore he cannot then claim innocense based on those consequences.

Jailed for what?

A story in todays paper tells of a Lexington woman who was jailed under a $50,000 bond because she had 5 kids living in a house with no running water and no air conditioning.

What should have been the crime was having five kids between the ages of 1 and seven. That's 5 children in six years folks and while not too many per se, it is too many if one can not afford to raise them.

Exactly how long has the world been blessed with air conditioning and running water? In thde scheme of things, not long at all. Both my parents grew up in homes like that. In fact my mom's mom didn't gett indoor plumbing until the mid sixties and I don't believe the home has air conditioning yet.

How Do You Tell Time in Spanish?

Same as you do in english, or french. You have a big hand and a little hand.

Falling is not fun

I was doing some repair work on my moms house yesterday and was using her old aluminum stepladder when the thing buckled, sending me quickly to the ground. Yes, it hurt. It still does as I landed on my right shoulder.

I drive a stickshift and it was painful to do so yesterday.

save your money

Casey Anthony wants big bucks for guest appearances and probable a big advance if she decides to tell her story in book form. I hope everyone paases because she should not profit from her crimes. (She was convicted of several, if you remember). She tells so many lies I doubt that anything she has to say would be belieavable, even if it was the truth, which I have my doubts.

Even though she was declared not guilty should not be taken by anyone to mean she was innocent. There isn't anyway for anyone to file a wrongful death suit on Caylees behalf to prevent her from every profiting from this incident.

Girl gets charity wish met after death in crash

A nine year old girl wanted to raise money so people in an African village could have clean drinking water instea of her receiving gifts for her ninth birthday. She was killed in a car crash jus a week or so after she turned nine.

it is a shame that sweet angels like this leave us so soon and some scum of the earth, like prostitutes, drug addicts, and unfit mothers seem to live and breed well past the time for them to go .

I'm just glad we had her for a while.

Christian?

The Norwegian shooter calls himself a conservative Christian but he seems to not understand the meaning of either term. To be a Christian means one has given up their life to follow Christ. It doesn't mean going to a church on a regular bases or believing or acknowledging that one believes in God and Jesus Christ. I believe that Adolph Hitler existed but I certainly don't adhere to anything the man believed in.

Following Christ is so much more than just regular church attendance, or biblical knowledge, or regularly confessing ones sins.

If the main focus of this man life was elimination of multiculturalism in Norway then he wasn't a Christian, not by any stretch of the imagination.

air jordans for sale

A lady in Graham is selling her son's pair of Air Jordan shoes that were signed by the former superstar to raise money to help another one of her children with his legal expenses. The shoes belonged to her son Peedie who died at age thirteen two weeks after receiving the shoes. They are signed "Good luck, Mickie" Michael Jordan.

Peedie died from a rare disease that caused him to age to fast. I met him shortly before he died and although he wasn't much more than five feet tall if that big and probably weighed less than a hundred pounds he looked to be in his late eighties or nineties. It's kind of confusing to meet someone like him as he acts like the kid he is but looks to be the old man he isn't.

I was working in Burlington at a Revco drug store on Church Street and he stopped in occasionally to purchase some candy.

Sometimes I read stories about successful men who were inspired by the sacrifices of their mother who worked two jobs, one maybe as a cleaning lady in an office building and the other equally distasteful. Knowing how hard the woman worked so he could have a chance at life made the man aspire to greatness. Then you read stories about Peedie and his brothers who choose to take advantage of their mothers absences while she worked two jobs to support them. Their choice was to sell drugs.

Was the momma a bad parent?

I can't answer that but just because she had to work two jobs to support her family doesn't make her a bad parent.

Should she sell the shoes to help her son?

I think she should sell the shoes and take herself a nice vacation. A vacation would leave her with lasting memories and make her even closer to Peedie. Unless she really believes her son is innocent or will change, she should use any proceeds for herself or give the money for some worthy cause. If her troubled son really cared about his mother he would not ask her to sell something that means so much to her. I believe she needs to remain strong and tell him no. He needs to learn to accept responsibility for his actions and to grow up and stop tasking advantage of other people, especially his mother.

addition a disease or a choice?

Yes, it is both.

A smoker hopes they never get vancer and they may not but the realityis smokers die younger than non smokers. To smoke is a choice and if one chosses to smoke, they will get hooked. Maybe one in ten thousand can smoke on a regular bases then put the smokes down and never have a desire for another one but many who claim not to be an addict really are.

Alcohol is a disease but it is a disease of choice. If one never takes a drink he can't become an alcoholic, or rather, maybe one is already an alcoholic so if one never takes a drink the drug (disease) cannot control their lives.

Amy Winehouse dead at 27

Too young to die but old enough to know not to abuse drugs and alcohol and rich enough to get the help she needed.

Too bad she'll never have the chance to change now, butif she could come back to life, I bet she would really want too.

Dental Visit

Moday I had my teeth cleeaned and the dentist noticed a filling was soft so he had me come in today to have it replace. I ended up with a root canal. it seems it is hard to numb me so it took about 7 shots, two directly into the tooth once he punched a hole in it. Ouch!

Last time I had a tooth pulled the dentish couldn't give me enough painkiller to do me any good so he pulled the tooth anyway, like they did in the old west before we had pain killers but without getting drunk first. Double ouch.

Shrinking faith

Since October of 2010, there have been at least two churches in Randleman cease operation. One was a little white church, similar in size to the one I attend, on US 311 just as one crosses the railroad tracks in front of Tank and Tummy. It was a Free Will Baptist church. The other was New Life Baptist church where the pastor was arrested and charged with sec crimes involving two minor children.

It is my hope in that case that he not be guilty.

When I was young it seemed almost everyone was a Christian and none questioned the faith. But as the years go by it seems les and less people believe and more and more people poke fun at believers and the faith.

I've also noticed that many churches seem more like social clubs than religious organizations and what preaching is done is more of a social gospel.

The more convinced I become of the reality of God the less it seems the world wants to know.

2.5 men

I watched the show but it was getting to be too risque for me. I had quit watching even before Charly Sheen was fired and I'm definetly not going to watch Mr. Demi Moore.

I sure do miss the old days of good clean comedy like Dick Van Dyke, Lucille Ball, Leave it to Beaver, and Father Knows Best.

What a day

Some days are exciting and filled with so much to do that one can not possible get everything done and some days are stressful while others are just pure fun. Today was neither stressful, exciting, nor fun. It was rather long and boring.

I had to go into Asheboro and move some furniture, purchase a birthday card, and switch the lawn mower I had at the house with the one I had at the church. Other than that, I stayedin doors all day and didn't do muchof anything.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. I have a dental appointment.

IXquick

It is interesting to search around the links to visitors to my web site: I came across this ad on a link to a broswerand it reminded me of thestory behind a serial killer. Women were disappearing, especially black women who worked the streets as prostitutes and the police were baffled. One day the killer sent a news reporter a map and a taunting letter. The killer had carefully cut any identifying marks from the map thereby believing it untraceable but the police search all web maps until the found a map that was an exact copy of the map sent by the killer.

The map provider then furnished the IP address of the only customer who had downloaded that map in the necessary timeframe and location and when police visited the owner of the IP address they discovered it belonged to a little old lady whose son had a sex torture chamber set upin the basement of her home.

Now if this guy had only used this seasrch engine he would still be free to kill.

What Makes Ixquick Special

Ixquick is the world's most powerful search engine employing the most advanced metasearch technology.

Ixquick search results are more comprehensive and more accurate than other search engines. Ixquick's unique capabilities include an Advanced Search, a global search and power refinement.

Find phone numbers and addresses worldwide with Ixquick's International Phone Directory, or search through 18 million hours of video fun with Ixquick's Video search.

Ixquick search engine protects your Privacy!
Ixquick does NOT record your IP address!
Read more on our Privacy position or go directly to Ixquick's Privacy policy.

More comprehensive search results
When you search with Ixquick search engine, you are searching many popular search engines simultaneously and anonymously. Combined, these engines cover more of the Internet than any one search engine alone.

More accurate search results
An Ixquick result is awarded one star () for every search engine that chooses it as one of the ten best results for your search. So a five star () result means that five search engines agreed on the result.

This is significant because search engines choose results in different ways, and each approach works well in some cases and poorly in others. A result with many stars was chosen for many different reasons, and is a consensus choice of many search engines.

Also, while irrelevant Web pages can be "optimized" to fool a single search engine's algorithm, it is much harder for a page to fool all the search engines.

Advanced Search
Professional researchers rely on advanced search methods such as Boolean logic, phrases, wildcards, and field searches.

But different search engines support different advanced search methods, and require the user to access them in different ways. Keeping track of these differences can be time-consuming and burdensome.

Ixquick solves this problem by understanding which advanced search methods each search engine supports, and how to access them.

At Ixquick, you can enter virtually any advanced search, using one simple syntax. Ixquick supports a wider range of power search methods than any one search engine has.

Ixquick then sends your query to only the search engines that can handle that specific search, translating it into the syntax that each search engine needs.

For easy advanced searching, experience Ixquick's Advanced Search homepage by clicking on the Advanced Search link on the homepage.

Global Internet Search
Ixquick searches the world:

Search the web in any of 18 languages - even Chinese, Japanese and Korean. In each language, Ixquick searches local and international search engines so you'll find exactly what you're searching for;
Find people and businesses worldwide with Ixquick's International Phone Directory. Want to know who's calling? With just the phone number, Ixquick's Reverse Directory search can tell you. Want to find more information about the person or business? Click on the name and a complete Web search will be performed;
Over 18 million hours of video content. Refine your search in any of the 6 special categories.

Power Search Refinement
Use Ixquick's Search Result Honing to pinpoint the search results that you want: Notice the check mark () and X mark () that appear near some results. If a result is especially good, click on to find results that are similar, and if a result is not what you are looking for, click the X to remove results that are like it.

Power Search Refinement can be activated on the "My Settings" page.

The toolbar offers handy extras too: it lets you search through any website and its magnification buttons let you enlarge or reduce any webpage to make it more readable. And for fun, you can spice up your emails with smileys: choose from hundreds of large smiley emoticons to insert into almost any Web-based email.

Heroes and villian

This week I had jury duty and I was originally picked to be one of the twelve but the defense attorney dismissed me so I only got to read the news like everyone else. Todays paper had the headline "Caleb Brown verdict: Guilty".

It seems the defense called no witnesses on Caleb Browns behalf but was counting on the jury to render a verdict of second degree murder instead of murder in the first.

Leroy Arthur Petry was also in the news. Caleb Brown made the front page of a local paper while Mr. Petry made a sideline story on a website. Caleb Brown had his bust shot in the paper while Mr. Petry only had a picture shown of his hand, and even that wasn't real. The other hand in his picture, that of Barrack Obama, was real, but Leroy Arthur Petry's hand wasn't real. He lost his real hand when a granade he was tossing back to enemy soldiers blew up in his had.

He was already suffering from a gunshot that went through both his legs but he was still able to grab a granade and throw it away before it hurt his fellow soldirs. The reason the President was shaking his hand was to say thanks and award Mr. Petry the Congrssional Medal of Honor.

Unfortunately, heroes are a lot less common than murderers are.

Fla. Gov. Scott keeps promises, loses popularity

Wow, a man of his word. No wonder he is unpopular. No one likes a hones man nowadays--can't trust them, they say.

Friends and Family Day

July 31, 2011 is our Friends and Family Day service at One Way Baptist Church, starting at 10 am with a gospel group from Lexington. Please come. remember every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.

Ouch

"Man's penis cut off, put through garbage disposal" reads the headlines about a California woman who drugs her husband, cuts his penis off as he wakes up, and then puts the tissue through the garbage disposal.

The lady looks Oriental and I'm willing to bet she is Filipna. From my experience Filipina's seem to be overly jealous people. Of course one can't say just because one is from the Philippines one is jealous. That would be a stupid stastement. I'm just saying that from my experience there seem to be a larger percentage of women from the Philippines displaying extreme jealousy that from any where else I have been.

No, I don't have any scientific data to back that statement up but my observations would be backed up if there was a study done.

In any case, that had to hurt.

National Anthem

Jordin Sparks, former American Idol winner, sang the Star Spanagled Banner at tonight All-Star game and while it was obvious she is a talented singer, it was equally obvious that showcasing her voice rather than the meaning of the anthem was uppermost on her agenda. I think before someone is allowed to sing that song they should be required to understand under what circumstances it was written and what they should be trying to convey when that song it sung.

I believe it is disrepectful to sing it as she did and so many "big name" singers do.

Jury room

This morning during the break and while I was still part of the jury and we were still two shy of twelve, some young men were discussing what they could say to get themselves excused if they were called to sit on the jury and if i had had the time I would have told them this story.

When I was in the US Navy stationed in the Philippines, it was the custom that the national anthem was played at twelve noon every day and if one was outside he was required to stop, face the flag and salute. Most soldiers and sailors would try to get indoors at twelve and if one was caught unaware of the time would run into the nearest building if they could get away with it.

One day the base commander made an announcement that went something like this:"The American flag represents our country, our family and friends, and the principals we live by and have swore to defend with our very lives and the efforts to evade saluting that flag is a disgrace to that flag and the people and ideas that it represents."

From that day forward I never avoided my privilege to salute that flag.

In America the government makes the laws, interprets the laws and enforces the laws and contrary to popular opinion, it is not the ballot box but the jury box that allows American citizens to remain free from the tyranny, and it is not only a privilege to serve on a jury but something we should desire to do."

Jury Duty, Part II

Today was my second day of jury duty and much to my dread, I was chosen to sit on the jury and it was a murder case. After the prosecutor asked his questions and I had to tell an embarrassing story about myself, I was accepted.

However, the defense attorney saw fit to dismiss me so I was excused for the week. I always wanted to serve on a jury, especially since I write crime stories but I suppose the defense attorney didn't like that I felt that if a person was guilty I'f vote wuilty and if he wasn't I'd vote not-quilty. I suppose there are varying degrees of guilt but the defense attorney didn't feel he wanted to take the chance that I'm not as open minded or fasir as he would have liked.

It was with mixed emotions that I accepted my dismissal.

Jury Duty

I have jury duty this week so I made it to court on time this morning and after the swearing in ceremony, all the prospective jurors were let go for the remainder of the day so I thought it might be a good idea to catch up on all my errands for the week. I dropped my lawnmower off for repair, id my banking, recycled the recyclables, and purchased my groceries.

In my scurrying about I almost pulled in front of a car. it was a little thing , just a little over 3000 lbs of metal and plastic or whatever this thing was made from. It was a Ford, a GT 40 by name, a white one with blue strips. The first ones built fetched a mere $300,000.00 and a recent prototype sold for $2.5 million. Even the cheap one was way more than I could have afforded to repair.

Tragedy in small towns

Many people believe bad things only happen in big placesbut that is far from true. I live in a small town and know hardly anyone who lives here. I suppose Randleman is about as safe as anywhere but with many more small towns in NC than large ones, I suppose if one adds up all the population that lives in small towns, medium size towns, and large citis, the crime rate will even itself out.

Friends and Family Day

Sunday, July 31, is friends and family day at One Way Baptist Church in Randleman. Instead of Sunday School, we will have a gospel group who will conduct the first hour of the service in music. I think we are going to have sdome food for everyone after the services.

I don't have any family except for my wife in this area and most of my friends live in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or Kernesville so the church is a little too far for them to come to. I sincerely would like to have you attend and you can be my friend if you want too. If you don't, that's okay too but please still come to One Way that day, or any day for that matter.

I realize we have a small building and don't have all the programs of the larger churches but even the larger churches started out small.

True, some congregations broke away from another church and may have started with seventy-five people. I don't focus on what we don't have but what we do have. We have a lot of love for each other, and we have the truth preached from the pulpit.

Finally

6:55 pm Friday 7-8-11 Randleman is finally getting some rain. yea!

Thursday, July 07, 2011

I believe but not good enough

I believe Casey Anthony killed her daughter, probably accidentally, became afraid she would go to prison, hid the body in the trunk of her car, then dumped the body once her her was disabled.

Unfortunately, there was not enough evidence to show how Caylee died nor was there enough evidence to prove that Caseywas the one responsible for the child's death.

Believing so doesn't make it so.

Town forgotten

It seems Randleman, NC has bee forgotten by the big westher systems moving through this area this summer. I have had only one significant rainfall in the last two months or so but surrounding areas have had plenty of rain. The last three times I have gone to Hickory to visit my mother I have encountered rainfall in Winston-Salem all the way through High Point but no rain at all in Randalman. Yesterday was no exception. I understsnd even Asheboro received an inch of rain yesterday.

From the time I exited onto US 311 in Winston-Salem, one would have thought I had encountered a vehicle accident because the traffic was at a stands till and moved fairly slowly until the exit off 311 (the new one) onto Hwy I-85. Traffic was lined up on both side of the highway, parked until the big storm passed, and what traffic was moving was creeping along.

Except for one brief strenth of Highway about a mile in legth in which no rain had fallen, it rained extremely hard from W-S all the way through High Point until one got to the sign on 311 that said Asheboro. The rainslowed to a sprinkle and then stopped completely for the last three miles of 311 and all of the remainder of the drive on old 311 into Rasndleman.

O would appriciate a good rainfall at my place and so would my garden, water ponds, and flowers as well as the grass.

Motorcyclist crashes in helmet law protest, dies

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A bare-headed motorcyclist riding in protest of New York state's helmet law crashed, struck his head on the roadway and died from his injuries, state police said on Sunday.

Philip Contos, 55, was riding among a large group of motorcyclists staging an organized protest ride in western New York near Syracuse against the state law requiring all motorcyclists to wear helmets.

The Parish, New York, resident crashed on Saturday on Route 11 in Onondaga, New York, and was pronounced dead later at a local hospital, state Trooper Robert Jureller said.

"The doctor felt that the death could have been prevented if he simply had been wearing a helmet," Jureller said. "He hit the brakes, lost control, was ejected and struck his head on the road. He suffered a skull fracture."

Delicious Hot Stuff

I picked one pint of red chili peppers and one habreno pepper and six cherry tomatoes and dropped them in a blender with some vinegar, a little sugar, and a dash or two of salt, and liquified the concoction, then strainned the seeds and poured into a squirt bottle. The remainder I spooned into a jar as the heavier stuff remainded in the bottom.

Nice kick and good flavor.

hit me or lock me up

If I locked my child in a closet I could be arrested and charged with child abuse but Icould hit the child and be within my rights as a parent to discipline that child. When that kid grows up, society can lock him up but cannot physically punish that person (except in debt penalty cases).

I've raised some wonderful children and while I believe in "spare the rod, spoil the child" I don't believe it necessarily means I have to hit the child. Corporal punishment is sometimes neccessary and is to be used sparingly. I may have spanked my son three times in his life and I never had occasion to spank KeishaLynn. I raised six childen and only had occasion to spank two of them.

I have always believed it far better to raise a child with love and respect. I never "baby talked" with a child but I did have a set of rules and a strict code of conduct for them.

baby Koi

Showa had several dozen koi to survive, which is way too many for my pond so when they are large enough I will be putting some of them up for sell. There is a tri-colored one and an orange and white one I am going to keep and one koi looks to be a gold color but colors change so i'll decide next spring which ones I want and sell the rest of them.

They will be a year old and big enough to take home by then and I'm only going to charge a dollar or two for them.

So if anyone has a koi pond or are thinking about putting one in, contact me for fish and plants. I'll give you a really good deal.

Things are slowing down

Just after Obama was elected the economy tanked and almost everyone lost a lot of money in the stock market, myself included. It was a toughthing to do but I held steady, telling myself that as the value of my stocks decreaded, the number of units I could purchase each week went up and therefore, I would recover much faster when the economy did turn around.

I did good becausee I recovered everything plus some during the initial rebound with my stocks gainning value at well over thirty percent. Things have slowed and my stocks value have grown at only a 23.64% rate in the last 12months, 7.15% from january through June, and only 2.22% in the last three months.

I don't know if my figures are good, bad or on par with everyone else but I do know that things are slowing down but things are not stable though. I don't know about you but this change we can believe in thing hasn't really worked out too well for me.

Even Steven

I just traded my 2001 Echo for a 1994 Ford Ranger extended cap pickup. I'm sure the person I traded with got the better deal as the Echo was in great shape, clean, well taken care of, 41 mpg on the highway, 34 around town and had 117230 miles on it when we traded with fairly new tires and no mechanical problems at all.

The Ranger nees a little work: a couple seals leaking and new brakes for the front--maybe $500.00 to put the truck back in shape, plus a lens cover is loose but now that I'm retired I won't have to drive often or far except to Hickory once a month. I can, however, haul mulch, or lumber, or a lawn mower, which I could not do in the Echo so I'm happy with the deal.

Right of way

Triad Teenager Dies After Car Crash On I40 In Raleigh

Marcus Bridges

WRAL.com

Raleigh, NC -- Raleigh police charged the driver of the car that caused a deadly accident Saturday afternoon on I-40.

The wreck happened at the I-40 East, I-440 split. Morgan McKenzie, 17, of Trinity, was killed in the crash. Two others in the car with her were injured.

According to police, the crash happened after a Chevy Malibu driven by Emily McKenzie swerved to avoid hitting a car merging onto I-40 from I-440. Emily McKenzie lost control of the car, went across two lanes, ran off the highway and hit a tree.

The driver of the merging car, Marcus Bridges, pulled back onto I-440 and left the scene, according to police. He was later caught and charged.

Police charged Bridges with felony hit and run, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, and unsafe lane change.

The other passenger in Emily McKenzie's car was Donella McKenzie. All three women in the Malibu were taken to WakeMed, where Morgan McKenzie died from her injuries.

Police confirmed that all three were from Trinity.

Friends have setup a facebook to remember Morgan McKenzie, click here to access it.

WRAL/WFMY News 2

I think too many people believe that when they are merging onto an interstate that they have the right of way and the raffic on the interstate is supposed to change lanes to allow them to merge. That just isn't so.

Other common driving errors I see a lot of is on city streets, especially in Greensboro, there are sometimes two lanes for traffic to turn left at an intersection. Often cars in the inside turn lane (the one closest to the center line or the lane on the far left if one a one way street) will cross over in front of the other car turning left.

There is such an intersection on Tate and Friendly, another on Spring and Friendly, on on Elm and Friendly, and I believe it is Pembrook and Brian Blvd where a fourth one is located.

Sometimes it is better to take the direct hit than swerving to avoid an accident. A more experienced driver, or at least on that is more skilled in defensive driving, would not just be concentrating on keeping their car going in s straight line but weatching other traffic, playing over in their mind potential hazards and planning escape routes and manuevers to avoid an accident.

Failure to yield when merging caused the incident I was involved in in Morganton, NC when the SUV trying to merge onto I-40 assumed I would change lanes to allow them onto the interstate. I could not do so but I anticipated their merge point and slowed to allow them to move in front of me.

But instead on merging, the SUV slowed and put itself back onto a collision course so I had no choice but to push the accelarator to the floor and speed ahead of the merge point to avoid a collision. I did everthing right to avoid a wreck but the people in the SUV wanted to take their anger caused by their bad driving out on me.
Still, no one died or was injuredwhich is the point of defensive driving.

I'm sad the young lady was killed and sad that the young man didn't stop to render aid or accept responsibility for his actions but if he had been a responsible person he would have know the rules of the road before getting behind the wheel.

How?

Oscar-winning actor Heath Ledger died at age 28 from an accidental prescription drug overdose in January 2008.

How does one accidentally overdose on prescription medication? The directions are on the label. If one takes as directed then one is okay. If one takes more than is prescribed then one can die. Either one has to do this on purpose or one has to be forced to do this. It can't be an accident.

If a person is taking precription medication that has not been precribed to them and they die, isn't that still taking medication on purpose?

So I am thinking that "accidental overdose" is just a code for "he screwed up big time".

JLos mishap

The media gets it wrong again. When first reported the story said JLos dress fell of andnow it is being reported as a nip slip. Actually, it is nothing to write home about. Sensationalism at its worst.

The big day

i suppose most people like to skate through their final weeksat work especially their final day but I'm not built that way. I gave a four week notice and continued to do my normal job until today. Today I went all out and even cleaned up after lunch. It felt good to get as much done as I did in a short period of time and leave little to do for the closers.

As of two o'clock this first day of summer 2011 I am officially retired. Actually, I had already planned on taking a vacation this week as it is my anniversay week so maybe not having a job to go to will really sink in next week when my wife goes back to work. She only has a week to work before she has surgery on her foot to fix her funny looking toes so maybe she is fortunate having someone here to take care of her.

my plans for retirement are to take care of my love ones, continue mowing the grass at the churchand home, to be of more help to my wife here and to do whatever I can to help the church grow.

I've been able to attend very few of the Sunday morning services but I do get a video tape of them each week but its not the same as being there. I understand we had 29 this past Sunday which is more than double the number who attended last October when I started going there.

One man came to sing at the church three weeks in a row but he said the church wasn't big enough for him. That's okay because we aren't looking for numbers to put on the board but good Christian people who want to work to spread the gospel.

Soon I'll get to teach Sunday School. We have had a rotating syatem where our associate pastor teaches for four Sundays and our missionary pastor teaches the next four Sundays. I'm not sure how the new rotation with me will evolve but I'm not a preacher so one won't get little minnie sermons.

What I like most about teaching is I have discovered it is one of the best ways to learn. My first lesson will be on milk and meat.

Next spring I hope I can find a little league baseball team to coach. I prefer the ten to twelve year age group. I'm not sure if Randleman has organized ball or not so if you hear of an opening in the area let me know.

I'm looking forward to following Christ and serving the church and I'll see you there.

J-Los dress falls down on live TV

it all started with janet jackson and here lately it seems the women are trying to outdo each other with wardrobe malfunctions. Last week it was a crotchshot which really wasn't a wardrobe malfunction but was published by the media as such.

I sure hope the next time this happens the woman is wearing underwear but I'm not counting on it. I think they are getting a little carried away now with all these clothing problems.

Slaves, freedmen spied on South during Civil War

Why is this news just making the headlines? I think people figured this one out long ago--like around 150 years ago. maybe this is a better article for marvin's but I just felt it too stupid to pass up.

The Last Day

Tomorrow June 21, 2011 is the last day of spring and the first day of summer. It is also significant because it is my last day of work. At 2 pm tomorrow I will officially be retired.

I have several reasons for making the decision not to return to work, the least of which is not my desire to be able to attend church services on a regular bases. Retail has had its good points with its flexible schedule as I never had to miss work for doctors appointments or for the things the kids did during the day but I missed out on a lot of normal things. With no permanent schedule I couldn't attend church, join any groups, or make advance plans to do things with family or friends.

Another reason for retiring is because of the lack of a relationship with my wife. She if off every Sunday and usually gets either Saturday or Wednesdays off. I get Thursdays and Mondays off. Seldom do we every get a day off together and to make matters worse, I work Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings and she works 2nd shift hours so I never get to see her on the weekends when most couples are together. Wednesday's she works first shift and I work the evening shift and Tuesday I work mornings and she works evenings so at least four days a week we don't see each other.

The third reason I decided to retire is pain. I have tendinitis in my right arm and was told I have some choices: face surgery or learn to live with the pain. Well, I have been using max-freeze or apspercreme on a daily bases plus swallowing some OTC pain pills several times a week.

One of the side effects of my prescription medication is muscle weakness and sorenessand that makes it hard to sleep at night so I always feel tired. Nowi feel like I have to get out of bed on my day's off because if I sleep late I won't be sleepy enough to go to bed in order to get up at 3 am. Even when I do get time off like on a vacation my body is so used to going to sleep early and getting up early its hard to adjust.

I just want to feel normal and live a normal life and be able to do things like normal people do.

Hefner seeks revenge against runaway bride

Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy magazine thought he was getting married to a playmate but just before the wedding she called itoff and announced she had never intended on marring the much older man. Apparently she was just in the relationship for the publicity. Hefner is angry and is seeking revenge.

if he wasn't such a foolish old man he would have realized she didn't want to be with an old man any more than he would want to be with a myuch older woman (if there are any left).

Actually he should be grateful she bailed before the wedding because if they had been legally married she might have taken him for all he was worth.

Mr. Hefner has had his fun, lived the good life, but he has to face the facts that he is no longer a stud. Now is the time for him to face the truth about his present life and his future.

A name is missing

"The current crop includes former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. Next week, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman will join that group."

Ohne important name is missing from this group of Republican candidates for President and considering who was left out, it is no doubt liberal media wants to ignore him as much as possible. He is a successful business man, highly educated, and has some good ideas that are doable--proven ideas by either prac tice or intense study. One Democrat referred to him as a Choco Puff but he is a serious candidate and deserves serious consideration.

His name is Herman Cann.

I backed Mike Huckabee last year and he came close to winning the nomination and we would be better off if he had been the candidate. I'm not in a habit of backing losers and Herman Cain is not a loser. Give him a serious look-see and you will know what I mean.

church remodel

Our church building is old and in need of some work soI volunteered to help. I was there when the old carpet was ripped out and the bad spots in the floor cut out and replaced. The first thing we had to do was remove the pews which was harder than one might imagine as they were attached to the floor via screws, most of which had stripped out heads.

It took the better part of the day to get the floor replaced and sealed. The new carpet was laid the next day but I had to be at work soI missed thar. I worked tonight so I missed the church cleaning party and since I work Sunday morning I will most likey be the last member to actually see the finished work.

But I am happy to say I won't miss many more church services since Tuesday June 21, 2011 will be my last day of work. I've reached that point in my life where working full time is no longer profitable as things I want to do while I still can loom large in my priorities.

My most important goal is to work to build the church. My second ambition is to coach a little league baseball team next summer. I hope i can find an opening some where. It has been many years since I've been able to do that and I really miss it.

No, I really can't afford to retire but living tight will have to do so I can accomplish my goals. My mom just turned 86 and her house needs some work and she needs better care than she has been getting plus my mother-in-law isn't well and it is stressful for my wife to deal with, so I'm going to take over more of the house keeping duties to make things easier of my wife and get some things done around Mom's house, like her roof repaired.

I'll have plenty to do so retirement will not be boring.

since one can no longer find me at H-T, look for me in church. See ya there one day.

Anna Garrison

Anna Garrison

This booking photo comes from 33-year-old Anna Garrison's September 10, 2009 arrest in Pasco County, FL, on charges of retail theft, possession of paraphernalia, possession of prescription blanks, failure to return a rented vehicle and grand theft. Garrison has several previous arrests on theft and drug charges.

This photo is from the TRUTV crime Library.

If one looks beyond the scares and sores on this womans face, one can see she could be n attractive person. Her problem is a rebellious attitude and a drug problem. societies problem is she could have a long life ahead of her and she will continue to commit crimes to support her drug habit and we just don't seem to learn that locking people like her up in jail or prison does no good because once they are released they have little choice but to go back to the life they were living before their arrest.

There is a better way.

Prosecutors focus on duct tape in Anthony trial

If Caylee drowned in the swimming pool and Casey contends, then she should explain why she put duct tape over her daughters face before dumping the body in the woods and covering up her child's disappearance for a month.

How could a woman do such a thing and still claim they are a good mother?

Friday, June 10, 2011

Casey Anthony

I'm a crime buff and have followed the Caylee/Casy Anotony case from the beginning. During her trial many pictures have been published of Casy in court and it seems most have a common theme. Casy is almost always wearing long sleeves and the sleeve extends halfway down her hand. I'm sure everyone is aware thatis a fashion style that is inteneded to signify "I'm cute".

Another common thing about this women is she always seems to be crying or in an emotional state. She may be trying to signify her innosence by appearing to be sensitive and vunersble and now she is "sick", sending a message of "fraility".

What she is hoping for is that she will be preceived as a young, little, cute, sensitive Mom who is too frail and vunerasble to have hurt her own child.

What I see is a cold hearted manipulative woman who is doing her best to sell the jury and thw onlookers on her lies.

Khloe Kardashian's Nip Slip

I'm sure Khloe's nip slip video will get many more hits than anything I could write but it really shouldn't be that way but not because I'll write anything worth reading on a wide scale but because Khloe's nipples shouldn't interest anyone save for her husband and/or baby.

Since that Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction which wasn't really a malfunction, there seems to be more and more of these incidences happening which kind of makes be believe that some if nor most or all of these things are planned publicity stunts.

If you believe all of these things are real, maybe you would have believed my excuse for Weinner 'I was going to take a snapshot with my web cam and it fell. When i reached to grab it I hit the send button and a picture of my crotch was sent out instead of my profile."

Hey, my excuse is a lot more believable than his was amd I am not an accomplished liar like politicians are. I am, however, a writer, and a finction writer must be able to make up lies and convince you that they are true while holding your interest.

In ones head

How come when one sings silently to oneself, one sounds really good? One can give a great speech, write beautiful words, pen emontionallt charged poems, and create all kinds of wonderful things but just try to artiulate what just went through your head and if you even remember what it was you thought, it just sounds dumb when you say it out loud or write it on a piece of paper.

Just another mystery of life.

Sad News

A good friend of my wifes who works a thrid shift job came home this morning to find her mother had died while in the living room.

Please say a prayer for her and ask thar she receive the strength to deal with the problems and grief facing her now.

You would have to pay me well

A designer would have to pay a person well to wear these outfits once, in a show where few people saw them and would forget you. I can't imagine a woman actualy buying one of these outfits and wearing it where people really knew who they were.

Some of these things look like rope with bubble wrap or feathers and Christmas tinsel.

One would think that if this is the best one can do what is the reason for trying but apparently there is a market or at least a reason for this stuff. Please don't explain it to me as I don't believe I really want to understand.

Maybe I am being close-minded and hard-headed like the lady who came to the yard sale at the church. She not only didn't believe in heaven but dared us to prove it existed. "Have you ever know anyone to visit heaven and tell you what it was like?" she challenged.

Well yes actually I do. If you don't, I really need to see you in church next Sunday.

Yard sale a success

Sixty dollar cash donation plus we sold a washing machine, a set of dumb bells, plus a vast variety of other items. We raised a total of $278.00 which is more than enough to get the floor replaced. Now we just need some money to buy some carpet.

I heard there was a lot of laughs and one old lady with a nasty disposition.

Friday, May 27, 2011

Yard Sale.

We are having a yard sale at the church tomorrow to raise money to repair the flooringat the church. There are several soft spots and with all the new people coming now, it is becoming increasingly important to get the repairs done soon.

One can help by either attending the yard sale and making a purchase, droping something off that will sale, or by making a cash donation (or all three or a combination thereof.)

The church is One Way and is located on Sunset just off Stout Street in Randleman.

Yard Sale.

Showa floats sideways

Showa floats sideways is a silly way for fish to swim unless it is a flatfish like a flounder. Showa isn't a flatfish but a koi fish, or colored carp in English and she doesn't float sideways by choice but because she died. She wasn't very old, just a couple of years, and she had just spawned which may have had something to do with her death. She was nineteen inches long and weighed around four pounds and she was my favorite of my fish.

I took Shark out of the big pond and put himinto the small pond. I saw Spot and Orange but not Tiger or Zero. None of the fish have been eating well so I'm really not sure what is going on.

Anyone have any ideas, please pass them on.

Missed You

I did notice you were not in church tonight, or at least you were not at One Way Baptist in Randleman. I missed you for I was hoping you would come. Tonight was a special night, the first step in a long walk of service.

I'm a quiet person and if I'm involved in something I believe in I want it to succeed. When I see a need I try my best to fill that need. Little things. I can't give enough to repair the floor at the church but I can ask for donations and give some towards the project. I saw a need for lawn care at the church so I purchased a new lawn mower to keep at the church so I could mow the grass. I furnished a fan for the pulpit area because it gets hot in that little area and the air conditioner will freeze the congregation before it gets that corner cool enough. Yea, my shed gets hot so I try to do my work in the shed during the cooler parts of the day.

We had a family once that seemed troubled and the preacher just couldn't get through to them. I managed too. No, it wasn't me really. It took several weeks of soul searching and prayer before God gave me the words to say.

No, I'm nothing special and do nothing special; just the little things that need to be done. Tonight the church just made it official.

Sorry you weren't there to share the moment with me. No, not for my honor for I deserve none but because you would have reeived a blessing from the many testimonies, the fellowship and the love our members show towards and for one another.

One day I will see you in church. Make it soon.

Not gone yet

I heard the atheist who has the deal about taking care of the pets of those who thought they were going to be raptured today. He kept saying "saved in the rapture." There isn't any such thing as being saved in the rapture. Frankly, I just don't believe that when the rapture does occur, it is going to be the big catastrophic event many have believed it to be.

Run a;ll the numbers you wasnt too but the answer isn't in the bible. Jesus said that he didn't known nor the angels in heaven know but only God the Father knew. He did say he would come as a thief in the night. Scripture makes it clear that know one knows.

One must have already been a bleiever before the rapture. One cannot be saved during the rapture.

The rapture does not signal the end of the world nor the second coming of Christ. The second coming of Christ does not bring the end of the world either; the second coming of Christ prevents the world from being destroyed.

See you in church tomorrow.

Not gone yet

Pickles

A gallon of dill pickles at sams club is $5.88, much cheaper than even an extra large jar of Caussen pickles are at the grocery store, including Walmart. However, Mt. Olive pickles, while good, aren't nearly as good as Claussen.

Sometimes we have to make choices between what we can afford, and what we desire. I want a new pickup truck; I drive an old Echo. I can't afford to trade even for an old pick-up truck. Even at fourty plus mpg, the forty mile a day drive still hurts my wallet.

I've found that when buying things one needs to last, like furniture, it is best to my quality. Cheap stuff breaks, doesn't look as good, isn't as functional, and over the course of time will have to be replaced several times, actually costing more than the expensive stuff does.

For luxury items, like cars and jewerly, one should spend what they can afford.

For everyday, disposable items, one should find the best buy they can on the items they perfer. Like pickles.

I'd rather pay a little more and get something I really enjoy than save money and not like what I'm eating.

Sometimes though, we have to do without, or make a choice between two vital alternatives. Sometimes, that can put us in a real pickle.

Things are beginning to happen

Last Sunday the church was full, and tonight, Wednesday, was quite unusal. We do not have Wednesday night servvices for several reasons: Almost half the congregation lives in Thomasville and it is difficult for them to attend a mid-week service. My wife and I both work Wednsday nights so that only leaves just a handful.

What the church started last week is a wednesday night visitation program. The first night went quite well and unbelievably, I was able to attend this week. I was prepared to go out into the community but we didn't go. We had so many visitors show up for service that we stayed and had a "lesson" for the need was far greater there than anywhere else.

Hard work, lots of praying, and dedication is starting to be rewarded. Things are beginning to happen.

See you in church.

may 21, 2011

An old preacher has led many to believe the end of the world will be May 21st. This isn't scriptural. According to the bible, Christ raptures His church, the earth then goes through a seven year tribulation period then Christ returns, sets up His kingdom and rules on earth form 1000 years. So it will be a long time before the world ends.

An article on this prediction of the end of the world on May 21 stated that most Christians don't beloieve in the rapture. Who is the author of this article conting as Christian? If it is people who say they share a Christian belief, then there are many people counted who never have set foot in a real church before and can't be counted as professing Christians. They have no idea waht a Christian really believes or what the bible teaches. I doubt they have every even read the bible and probably wouldn't understand it is they did. I have to admit, I have never met a faithful Christian who does not acknowledge the rapture as a biblicval truth so I have no idea where this fool got his information.

Leave well enough alone

Marie Shriver is having a difficult time dealing with her separation and the nerws that her husband is the actual jerk evryone believed him to be and he has admmitted to being a cheat and the father of a child not of his marriage.

Who the woman is and who the child is isn't my business. Turn and walk away from that part of the issue. Leave well enough alone.

Good News /Bad News

Donald Trump is not running for president/Mike Huckabee is not running for President.

Unless the Republicans can get their act together and get a serious viable candidate soon, BO is a shoo-in. Let us face the truth: Sarah Palin, Donald Trump and Ron Paul can't be taken seriously as chalengers for the White House. At the moment that leaves Newt and I'm not sure he is stable enough. Brilliant man, I understand, but sort of a wack job too.

Excited

One Way was almost full last night! I had just returned from the funeral for my sister-in-law and was excited to get to church. Last Sunday we had no evening service so I was excited to be able to attend this week. It was great to have most of our members there (one lady, 91, doesn't get to attend very often for health reasons and the other member doesn't come often because his wife refuses to come and gives him a hard time about his attendance.)

It was a good service.

See you in church.

Name calling

It seems the politically active portion of our population still doesn't get it. After that lady congressperson, Gilfords, was shot, there were many people on the left claiming it was the conservatives fault, particularly Sarah Palin's fault, for using rhetoric that could be interpreted as inflammatory yet when reading pieces about consevatives written by liberal staff writers, all the commenters seem to spew their venom of hate around like it was soft butter.

Discuss the issues and leave the vile speech for the dog that crapped on your lawn.

death claims another

I just received notice that my sister-in-law passed away yesterday, losing her fight with cancer. She lived for almost two weeks after she was disconnected from life suppoort. I believe her extra two weeks of life were a gift of God in answer to prayers.

"for it is given to all men to die' so the bible says and history has proven to be true but prayer can and does extend life and I believe in this case that is true. It gave her family the opportunity to say their goodbyes they would not ordinarily have had. It also gave me a chance to bring one last smile to her face and a bit of happiness to my brother.

I give God the glory for that moment.

Showa and Spot, Spawning

Showa is the larger fish, the orange, black and white one. Spot is white with a tan face and black spots. Showa is female and Spot is, of course, the male. Showa is 17" long and weighs just under four pounds. Spot is attempting to get Showa to lay her eggs so he can fertilize them. She will lay 100,000 eggs for each pound of body weight.

I am not a breeder so I have no need of 400,000 fish. Last year only one out of every hundred thousand survived birth but even one of them died when it was about two inches long. I have two from last years broad, Tiger and Zero.

I'll post a video on face book of the process of spawning. In the mean time you can enjoy the one of my fish playing in the waterfall.

Payno attentionto thedate/time stamp on the pictures. It was 9 am on May 11, 2011 when I took the pictures. The eggs should start hatching in between two days and a week.

What's fair?

She is to receive about $570,000 which works out to a little over $35,000.00 a year for the past 17 years. I suppose that is about an average income. In one way it seems like a lot of money, and it is. I could do a lot more with $570,000.00 than I could with $35000.00 a year.

Yea, I made that much working, just barely, but I did. But I enjoyed my home and my family and my freedom and I managed to save a goodly sum as well. Debra Brown didn't get to enjoy her family or home or friends.

Would you trade a year of your life for a year's income?

I didn't think so.

Too many innocent people are sent to prison.

I know that an attorney, any attorney, wants to win but winning should be getting the truth out into the open, not getting a conviction or a judgement for your side.

Some guilty go free for the same reasons that innocent people are convicted.

That's not justice.

The ladies group from the church went to Deep River Cafe in Randleman yesterday and reported the experience was great. The pastor's wife reportedly said she wanted to be taken there for the Mother's Day buffet--and she lives in Thomasville!

It really must be good food.

The power of prayer

Sunday, the doctor called my brother and asked him to come back to the hospital where his wife lay suffering from cancer. "Thee is nothing more that can be done for her" the doctors told my brother. "It's just a matter of a few hours at best."

James wanted her son to have a chance to say goodbye so he hooked his wife to a respirator until the family could say their goodbyes then he was going to have it unplugged.

Her son came and mother and sonb said their goodbyes and their last hugs and said or indicated their love for each other and then my brother unpluuged life support.

Many Christians were on their knees praying for her and many churches also.

Today she went home.

She may die tomorrow or Monday, or next week but she will be home on Mother's day.

I don't know if any of you remember Princes Springsummer Winterfall but she was played by a beautiful young lady as part of the Howdy Doodly puppet show that was one of the first shows on TV back in the fifties. When she was 24, she anbd her husband were on vacation when both died in a car accident. People didn't have the opportunity to pray for her. I'm sure she had no idea that morning that it would be her last day on earth.

My mother-in-law was rushed to the hospital this week and she was near death. While she was waiting to be taken to her room another man was brought in and placed in trama care next to her. He has just ran a red light and struck anothyer man, killing him. It was front page news in the Asheboro paper. The man who died doesn't have another week to live nor anyone to pray that he does. Once its over, its over.

I wonder what he would have done differently if he had known that he would die that very day.

I also wonder who might have the opportunity to tell him about Jesus. I wonder if Princess Springsummer Winterfall knew jesus and trusted Him? Who could have told them and didn't?

It's sad to know one only has minutes or hours or maybe just days to live but knowing the end is near gives one the opportunity to say their goodbyes and the chance to question their beliefs and make a choice.

No, prayer will not keep her alive forever nor allow for her to live a normal life. But prayer gave her a chance many never have.

Make the right decision now.

See you in church.

Both Sides

I've heard both sides of the story: the confusing, conflicting stories from the administration and various news agencies and the side from the people who think that manyh obama is not telling the truth about what happened to osama, or usama is anything happened at all.

some say he might have been working for the USA and was about to turn on someone, some say he died five years ago, some say one aide defended him with a green water pistol. Whatever.

Frankly, I think he was killed just as the White House said he was and one of the versions given out might contain more of the truth than others. I believe that we landed on the moon and that kennedy, JF was killed by Oswalt.

What really happened was...

At the very beginning of the attack the US lost a helicopter due to mechanical failure, oh, wait, did someone say mechanical failure. We meet that it was hotter in the compound than we had anticipated and the difference in the weight of the air made it impossible for the helicopter to stay in the air.

The President and his men (and women) were watching events unfold from the situation room, expect for the fifteen minutes, or was it twenty, that the troops were engaged inside the compound.

As they searched from room to room the US troops were confronted by Osama bin laden welding a gun, firing at them, and, oh wait a minute, he was unarmed. All he had for protection was his wife. No wait, it wasn't his wife. Or maybe it was. Anyway she was shot and killed by, hold on, she wasn't shot and killed but only shot in the legs. One of bin Laden wives was killed but not protecting bin Laden.

Anyway the women that bin laden was holding onto was used as a shield, no that's not right either. She voluntarily stood in front of bin Laden.

Anyway we know for sure that one of bin Laden's sons were killed. It was , wait, that not the name I was told the first time.

No, well, just hang around and we'll get our story straight eventually.

maybe we will even release a picture to prove we actually killed somebody and it was Osama bin laden except you can't really tell because half his face is missing from the gun shot would.

From my point of view, if this is the defining moment of Barrack Obama's presidency, the won moment that is supposed to ensure that he has regained control and will likely win re-election then one would think he could get his story straight. It really doesn't make the administration look warm and fuzzy and trustworthy, does it? Just adds fuel to the fire of naysayers and conspiracy theorists and makes this administration look foolish and untrustworthy.

obama Political boost

I suppose if the election were held yesterday or today, Obama would have been a tougher foe to beat because of the bin Laden affair and the truth is, he seems to have handled the war effort better than Rumsfeld and Cheney and Bush did. Still, one has to get over decision making over emotional incidents and look at the whole of a candidates policies. The economy sucks, we are still at war and on three fronts, and if we don't get this country back on course soon, it won't matter who is president because we won't exist as we do now.

Bin laden dead

Bin laden was killed by US Navy Seal Team Six during a raid on his luxury hideout located about 100 yardsfrom a pakastanimilitary post. No US troops were hurt although there is a report of oneof the helicopters used in the raid crashed. Bin laden was verified and buried at sea, in accordance with Muslim law.

One terrorist has died, another one will be born to take his place.

see you in church.

Lost

Tonight I received word that my sister-in-law is not expected to live the night. It will be a great loss to her family and my brother will especially be lost without her.

Many decades ago he was single, left in charge of five children, and had no transportation to or from work and lived in a place not quiet as good as the average shack when she literally picked him up off the streets. He would be walking to work and sometimes when it was her turn to drive the carpool she would stop and offer him a ride.

She saved his life, not in the physical sense, but she gave him a chance to have a life and they have been good together all these years.

If she had one thinbg left to say to anyone who would care to listen it would be to quit smoking. She did but it wasn't soon enough to prevent her suffering and death.

See you in church Sunday.

The Fallacy Of Islam

Muslims woulod have us believe that Muhammed is sacred and it is a crime punishable by death to recreate his image but only God is holy and no mere mortal can lay claim to that truth. The God of Islam is the very same God worshipped by the Jews and by Christians and Mohammed recognized the greatness of Jesus Christ but only afforded Him the title of a great prohet.

Yes, Jesus was a great prophet but He was much more: he was also the son of God as proven by His resurrection and ascension into heaven. In difference to Mohammed, who was only flesh and blood and now is decayed back into the earth, Jesus Christ is alive and well awaiting the word from God the father as to when He may return for his bride, the church.

There has been great tension between the Jews and the rest of the Arab world ever since Sara asked Abraham to sent Hanna and her son, Abrahams first born but not the child promised Abraham by God, away from their sight. His discendants have felt that the inheritance of Isacc belong to them and it was this jealousy that Satan used to deceive Mohammed into believing that his people were the chosen of God and all others were infedels.

To the Jew, non-Jews are Gentiles and even God loved Gentiles enough to have allowed Christ to die for us as well as the Jew. In fact the Jews role as Gods chosen people is so they could be a witness for God to the rest of the world as to whom God is and was not intended to set the Jews apart as the only people loved by God.

On copying that point, Mohammed missed the mark, teaching that God only loves Muslims and everyone else has to die.

To that point of non-conversion and death, there is a ring of truth to that but the death sentence has already been given to all st birth yet God made a way of escaping that death. We know that all men must die, good people like sweet little Grandma who had seven children and worked hard her entire life to provide for her family.

If death comes to all equally, then why does some think God unfair to let the dead remain dead? He isn't. He made a way of escape but we have to chose life. Christ offers us that choice.

Muhammed only offers death to non Muslims. That is not love. That is not of God.
