A local area man stands accused of 8 murders but claims innocense based on his drug and alcohol use. His defense is that he was so high he didn't know what he was doing.
It is common knowledge that using druga and/or alcohol changes ones personality and perception of reality and increases one likelyhood of doing abnormal things and reacting to situations in a violent manner. How often have you heard it said of someone 'he is really a nice guy unless he has been drinking."
Knowing this, if a man chooses to use druga and alcohol he is in fact accepting responsibility for his actions based on foreknowledge of what those drugs and alcohol will do to him therefore he cannot then claim innocense based on those consequences.
