Who are the most honest of murderers?

In a small, unscientific sampling of men executed for murder, 50% were white, 25% Latino, and 25% black.

Only 20 % of whites acknowledged their guilt and 20% claimed they were innocent on the day they were executed. The remainder made no comment one way or the other.

50% of Latino males acknowledged their guilt but none calmed to be innocent.

50% of black males claim to be innocent and only 10% admitted to guilt.

some things just irratate me

My Mom says minyum.  I don't know what minyum means.  I think she is trying to say minimum but she will say minyum wage.  Irregardless is another word she uses.    My dad said colyum, like "Samson grabbed the colyum and pulled and the house fell down."  I thought he grabbed the column  but my dad it was a colyum.

Sometimes I catch myself saying bliar instead of briar but only becasue Mom said bliar but at least I known the correct word.

Another thing that irratates me is my Mom and leaves.  She has a small yard but there are three giant red oak trees and three giant white oak trees (which she call pin oaks for whatever reason but so does her brother).  These tress drop a tremendous number of leaves in her yard and she wants every single one raked out of her yard.  For years she has had a handyman and he raked the leaves from her yard and each year the tree roots stick about ground higher than the year before and every year the grass coverage gets smaller and smaller.  There just isn't any top soil left for grass to grow in.

I have tried to mulch the leaves and put over the tree roots to rebuild the soil and top soil but so far I have fought a losing battle.  In the fall of 2010 I had spent hours mulching leaves and spreading them for the ultimate benefit and her yard man showed up unannounced (first time he had been there in 10 months!) and raked all my leaves to the curb.  This fall (2011) I did the same thing again knwoing that the yard man would never be back but Mom got my older brother to rake all the leaves to the curb.

All the grass she has left in the front yard is a spot about 10 feet wide and thirty feet long.  There is none on the lower side and about half as much in the back yard as in the front.  The upper side has a patch about five feet wide and 25 feet long and all of it is a sickly yellow green at its best.

She thinks its the leaves that are killing her grass.  For some reason she thinks pin oak leaves don't decay.    I believe they do but it doesn't matter because she has red oaks and white oaks but no pin oaks.

Some things just irratate me.

A Fool in the White House

Instead of telling the Muslims to sit down, shut-up and act like adults after rioting and killing two American soldiers, Obama apologizes for offending Muslims.  In the USA a reporter can poke fun at a Presidential candidate for expressing his beliefs and we laugh at the candidate but overseas, Muslims can get mad and riot and kill people and receive an apology from our President.

Are the Muslims going to apologize to us for over reacting and killing people?  I bet no one is prosecuted for the crime of murder for this incident.

What we need is a President with backbone.

Another agenda pushed down our throats

Have you notied that the majority of short videos and pictures of children and pets seems to feature a pit bull?  Sorry, but I am never getting a pit bull for a pet.

No love here

Afghans angry over Quran burnings attack U.S. base

No matter how hard proponents of Islaam try to claim it is only the radical element that spoils and soils an otherwise peaceful religion, headlines like this keeppopping up.  Cartoons, book burning, and almost any other perceived slight is enough to set this people into a frenzy of hate and violence.

One Muslim lady said she is so tired of Americans claiming that Muslims were not a people of peace she would like to hit them upside of the head.  Yep, that will let me know you are a peaceful person.

stupid logic

"The president urges Congress to put aside differences and to work on his election-year agenda. "His message

Obama thinks compromise means for enough members of the opposition to change their mind and pass his agenda.  Is that what they teach at Harvard?

don't take your gun to church

Seems simply enough doesn't it?  But not for some folks.  Two men went into a closet at church.  A closet?  Why would anyone coduct business in a closet?  Could not they conduct buisness in the parking lot before church or after church?  Or better yet, one could go over to the other person'd house to conduct business of selling a weapon.  Yes, yes, that would have been much better.

But no, one man brought his loaded gun to church.  Yes it is true.  The man didn't unload his gun before bringing it to church.  True, one of the two men removed the clip before placing his finger inside the trigger guard and, with the safety off, pulled the trigger.  One would think that engaging the safety would have been the first thing they would have done but apparently not.

One would also think one of them would have checked to see if there was one in the chamber but nope, they didn't do that either.  But one of them stuck his fingerin the trigger guard and pulled the trigger.
Now why would anyone do that?  The bullet had to go somewhere.  And it did.  It went into the head of the pastor's daughter.

She died today.

The cat in the box

A feral cat has roamed my neighborhood for a couple of months which was of no concern to me except that there is always the possibility of disease that comes with wild animals.  The last several weeks this cat, solid white but very small, has taken to hanging out near my bird feeders looking for a meal.

I go to great expense to feed the birds and provide them a place to live and have a family and I prefer that the birds do it in relative safety.  I also wish no harm come to the young cat so occasionally I'll toss some food out for it, but always far away from the bird feeders and bird houses.  Still, a choice had to me made about the cat and in the interest of children out playing and considering the disease possibilities, I decided that it was time for the cat to go.

I received a box, or cage if you will, from animal control, placed some cat food in it and when I came home from the special service at church today, I had a cat in a box.

It would have been preferable that the cat was domesticated for if it had been I might have given it a home myself.

addiction: choice or disease

I once bought into the argument that alcoholism was a disease but the truth is, few people get a disease willingly.  A 2 year old with cancer or a 5 year old diabetic had no part in getting the disease but no one ever became an alcololic until after they took a drink.  Anyone you know who is addicted to cocaine, did the cocaine first.  To do the things that resulted in the disease is a choice.

I have some illnesses that are a result of eating the wrong things and too much of the wrong things.  Eating those things was my choice.  That does not change the fact that diabetees is a disease but if I had made better choices I would not have the disease.  Regardless of the fact some cosider addiction a disease while others do not does not change the fact that addicts are sick, but sick by choice.

dead at 48

An article on Yahoo claims that Whitney Houston sang the greated redition of the national anthemn of all time.  I admit, she can hit those high notes and she can really sing.  She is also a great screamer.  Yahoos article claims she sang the song straight on, which she did not.  It sounds better when sang as written.

Yahoo also has a tribute page where people can leave their toughts about Ms. Houston.  It is a tragedy when anyone dies as young as 48 but what is most sad about that is it her own fault.  It's not like she died in a plane crash or by an IED or some randomly caught disease.

My younger brother and his wife played her "I will always love you" at their wedding which seems wrong because the song is a breakup song, not a love song.  The song isn't what it seems.  Whitney Houston may have seemed like a success, a great voice, a beautiful face and great figure, lots of money and a famous husband.  But her life was anything but successful.  Fights, arguments, drugs, a lost career, and finally death at 48.

She is proof that talent does not equal success and that fame and money does not equal happiness

How to get that amazing shotof birds and other wild animals.

To hold a camera steady and have it focusedon the exact spot and time a bird will slow to catch a branch with its claws while its wings are spread wide or to snap that picture just as the momma bird places the food into the mouth of her hungry babies is sheer genius or maybe not.

What I have been doing its setting my movie camera up, focusing on a particular spot and let the camera roll from its perch on a tripod.  I then doenload the movie, and isolate a frame witha noteworthy shot and then using my snapshot function I capture that frame.

is this a little church?

One would never know from the quality of the services at One Way Baptist that the services are from such a small church.  From the Sunday School lesson to the singing to the preaching one will not find better in the largest church in the area.  No, I'm very happy that God led me to that church and for all that I'm priviledged to do there.

Artificial intelligence

Bad Bob Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1 hr 26 mins ago
Russia's fighter tech has reached the point we would be better off buying their's than developing our own.
Posted in response to an article about India purchasing a few planes from the US to replace some outdated MIGs.
He said "we" which means the USA.  In other words, Bad Bob believes that the USAshould purchase fighters from Russia, most likely paid for with money borrowed from China,  for us to rely on during war time.  Our freedom is currectly threatened by Russia, North Korea, China, and Iran more so than by any other country and a war with one would mostlikely mean a war with three or more of these countries.

So if we follow Bad Bob's advice, we will have to borrow money from China to buy planes from Russia in order to fight a war against Russia and China because we have no tecnology to build a plane ourselves.

Smart, Bad Bof, real smart.

Please explain.

"Santorum is a freak. . The greatest threat to the US is Christians." Scott

Scott made this comment on an Yahoo article about Rick Santorum.  His comment is not disturbing but becoming more and more typical of whatone hears from the youth of America.  It seems that Christians have backed away from the fight and are increasing viewed as extremists.

How exactly did Christians get this reputation as being irrelevant in todays world and is there anything that can be done to change that?

digusting, beyond belief

LOS ANGELES -- There was never any outward indication that anything was wrong in Mark Berndt's classroom at Miramonte Elementary School in south Los Angeles. School officials and law enforcement authorities say they never received any complaints about the third-grade teacher, who is accused of blindfolding students, putting tape on their mouths and taking photos of them with live cockroaches or a spoon full of semen.
The photographs, brought to the attention of authorities last January by a film processor, eventually led to Berndt's arrest on Monday on charges that he committed lewd acts on 23 boys and girls, ages 6 to 10, between 2008 and 2010.

I am a poor man and i make far less than either of my brothers yet I am the only one that is retired and I'm more satisfied with life and my circumstances than most people are with their life.  I can't imagine needing money so bad that I would stoop to producing child porn for profit, nor am I so sexual deviate that child porn interests me in any form or fashion.

This has to be one very twisted school teacher.

I can hear again

I received my new set of hearing aids today and things are great.  The new aids brings my hearing level up to 64%, double what I could hear before.  I can hear almost as well as people with normal hearing but that doesn't mean I can understand everything they have to say.  If I'm in the next room I probably can't understand you or if you are looking away from me I'll have a harder time.  Still, things are so much better.
