State officials are debating a proposal to establish what would apparently be the nation's first statehouse bar — a venue where lawmakers and even members of the public could tip a few back after hours if they reserve the space
I have always been of the opinion that government competition with private enterprise wasn't legal. Maybe the proposed bar will be run by private enterprise. Still, somehow it just doesn't seen right that our lawmakers can get drunk in the very place that they make our laws. Just doesn't seem right.
