Gay Marriage ban

There really is no such thing as a gay marriage ban.  And the recognition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman is not just a Christian concept.  It seems proponents of gay marriage wants to blame the bible on peoples attitude about not allowing gays to be married but they are placing the blame in the wrong place.

Marriage between a man and a woman isn't a religious institution and it isn't only something that is done in Christian countries only.  That custom has been the norm in every country for like forever.  It has always been the norm for acceptable human behavior.

I know that marriage legitimizes a union and makes it socially acceptable.  I also think that changing attitudes are making formally unacceptable things okay.  Not too long in the distant past it was illegal to kill children but many people now are accepting of this.  Not only do they think it is okay but they believe it is their right to do so.

There are many behaviors that humans engage in that are really stupid.  I believe any behavior that alters ones perception of reality except as a medical necessity is a stupid behavior.  At one time drinking wine was necessary because water wasn't safe to drink.  Whatever benefits are in red wine comes from the grapes, not the alcohol so grape juice will do just fine.  Smoking anything is bad as well as snorting stuff up ones nose or injecting things into ones body (except as noted as a medical necessity).

I find it upsetting that Christianity is looked upon as a religion that restricts peoples freedoms and that Christians are cloeminded and judgmental. If one practices Christianity as a set of rules and moral codes then they have missed the point that Christ taught.  Christianity is all about having a relationship with Christ and if one has been born again in fact and not just in word only then he is truly set free and who is set free is free indeed.  Paul said that as a Christian all things are lawful but not all things are expeidient.  There is not lifestyle that is more free and tolerant than a true Christian lifestyle.
